Question: Info for Interior Light Short
When I bought my 06 G6, I realized that the interior lights did not work, and every time I replaced the fuse, it would blow. After thinking and trying to find things online, I was still stuck. I'm posting this so if others have this problem, they know how to fix it. I started thinking where the short could be and began looking for wire pinch points for the interior lighting. The first thing I checked were the vanity mirrors. What do you know, the passenger side vanity mirror had BOTH wires exposed (where the mirror mounts to the headliner). I went ahead and put some wire shrink sleeves on the seperate wires then taped them back together. After that, I bolted everything back up and put a new 10 Amp fuse in, and the problem was fixed! Some advice, check your pinch points first. I was getting ready to take the entire headliner out, but luckily I found the pinched wire first!
